Hiking to the Volcanic Crater Lake Eruovi aka Billy Mitchell

Video | Lake Billy Mitchell or Lake Eruovi as it’s known locally, is a volcanic crater lake standing at over 1,500 metres in the centre of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. It’s surrounded by mountain ranges, more volcanoes including the nearby Mt Bagana and dense rainforest as far as the eye can see. It can be accessed on foot via a 3 day (return) hike and approximately 17 hours of walking.
