Video | The Island of Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia. If you’re looking for a lesser known, off the grid, destination for adventure, Pohnpei in Micronesia should be added to your bucket list for 2018! Famous for its surfing, it also has amazing diving and snorkeling, kayaking, standup paddle boarding, hiking – you’ve got to do the Six Waterfalls Hike – as well as the magical ancient ruins of Nan Madol, waterfalls and tons of WW2 history.
Video | Where to go on Day 9 of our Pohnpei, Micronesia vlog? Well, someone within the Travel Inspired community suggested we try Nahlap Island, so we went. And unbelievably we had this tropical island all to ourselves – with the exception of our guide, a cat and a dog! The island was beautiful and the snorkelling was spot on!
On Day 7 of our Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia adventure we head out to the infamous Palikir Pass, not to surf, but to snorkel and check out what lies under those surfing waves. Unsurprisingly, we discovered plenty of incredible reef and fish but also saw some stingray and sharks too – check this out!
Video | A short glimpse into the underwater world of snorkeling in Papua New Guinea and more specifically snorkeling in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville of Papua New Guinea. It offers an abundance of colourful fish, intricate coral and crystal clear water, with average water temperatures of 28c. It’s like stepping into a warm bath. However, the real highlight is that on the remote island of Bougainville, you’ll often have the place to yourself. Since arriving in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea I now take a plunge as often as possible. You just never know what you might see whilst snorkeling in Papua New Guinea!
