Story time. Well, not really a story but I randoml Story time. Well, not really a story but I randomly thought about it, so I'm sharing it with you... 🙂 Way back in 2006, I sold my beloved red Honda Civic ESI. I loved that car. I was living in north London at the time, Golders Green for those that know it, and would park the car on a street about 15 minutes walk away, the closest I could get free street parking. Unfortunately, one day someone took a liking to my wheels, just normal bog standard wheels, and decided they would take them. They didn't even use bricks, instead droped the car onto the exposed disc brakes onto the road. Lazy. Anyway, it was around about then I decided to sell the car, plus, I was about to move to New Zealand on a year long visa too. That was probably the main reason. I drove it back to Somerset and sold it. Little did I know but that was the last car I have owned. It wasn't a plan, but once I got to Wellington, I lived in a hostel, then a flat in the city center and never needed one. Instead I took up biking as my commuting transport of choice. I loved it. I fell in love with it. Rain. Shine. Suit. Shorts. Whatever, it feels awesome. The half dozen times or so a year I borrow/rent a car to take a roadtrip or go to the tip (it's actually only ever those two things actually! 😄) I get a real buzz from driving again, radio blaring and cruising around. But there's nothing quite like the feeling of hopping back on two wheels... and living overseas in places like Bougainville + Timor-Leste, it's always interesting to explore and commute via bike, you just never know what you're gonna see... Like this guy, who had a speaker strapped to the handle bars blasting out some tunes and two buckets on the back containing something he was selling. I'm unsure what it was, maybe fish... 🐟🚴‍♀️
Soon, very soon, we will be back out there and amo Soon, very soon, we will be back out there and amongst it all! 🌿🌴🍃 And you know what, I can't wait to climb a mountain, swim in the sea, chat with random people I meet, go on adventures and film everything! 💕

Daia... Do you know what it means?? 🤔 I have no Daia... Do you know what it means?? 🤔 I have no idea but it caught my attention and I like the kiosk/loja/shop/store. If I recall correctly, I captured this moment from the car during a roadtrip to Los Palos a few years ago. It's one of my favourite things to do on a roadtrip as the passenger, leaning out of the window and capturing the world as it passes by. It's fair to say I get a lot of shots while moving but usually on my bicycle... I like to practice the art of cycle photography... that's a thing right? Anyway, I like this shop. I hope you do too. 🙂 PS. I looked it up and it's washing powder.
Okay, it's time to share some 'loja' (store/shop) Okay, it's time to share some 'loja' (store/shop) shots with you! 🛒Sponge Bob and Micky Mouse certainly grab your attention, or at least they did mine, that's for sure. I used to pass this shop everyday a few years ago, while living in another area of the city, but only ever stopped once to see if they sold electricity, which they didn't. I was kindly pointed in the right direction, about 10 metres away down an alleyway. I think the fact I couldn't go into the shop and instead would have to peer into the window and rely on my basic tetun abilities to buy anything was just too intimidating for this to become my regular loja but nevertheless I certainly appreciate the artwork! 💕
SOLACE IN THE WIND. If you have ever visited the c SOLACE IN THE WIND. If you have ever visited the capital, you will have probably seen him, usually naked, sometimes sporting a new clothing item, but always leaning into the wind at the ocean's edge. 💕
And we're continuing the appreciation of home post And we're continuing the appreciation of home post today! 🏡 I mean, seriously, just look at this place... This was one of my favourite go to spots, and while walking around Te Ahūmairangi I would always have the zoom lens handy as well, as there wer heaps of birds around, kaka, tui, waxeye and piwakaka too. Ah perfection. 💕

While I was back home in Wellington last year, having been repatriated from Timor-Leste, I was fortunate to have easy access to some incredible walks within Te Ahūmairangi and would venture out for a dose of fresh air, a walk and take in some amazing views of the city. It's one of my favourite areas for walking, full of greenery, birdlife and unbelievable views like this! Plus, it's a decent climb and workout up to the skyline too but once again, the views are definitely worth it. 💕 #wellingtonnz
